Warehouse in Vado Ligure
The Vado Ligure warehouse is located in the interporto, less than 200 meters from the docks of one of the largest commercial ports in Europe, the first in Italy for traffic of agri-food goods.
It is a logistics center of excellence that has 12 cold rooms with controlled temperatures between -27° and +5° and two anti-cells dedicated to loading and unloading goods. All the cells are EEC compliant and have the relevant certification.
Storage capacity: 20,000 pallet spaces for a total surface area of 14,100 m2.
The plant has obtained the qualification of “approved location”, which allows us to carry out customs operations directly inside our warehouses with the advantage of reducing costs and delays associated with customs clearance procedures.
A photovoltaic system provides 40% of the plant’s energy needs.

Authorisations, Licences and Qualifications
Approved location
The warehouse in Vado Savona is recognised as an approved location by the Customs Agency, allowing fast, secure, customs operations directly on site, saving time and costs.
FSSC 22000
Frigo Genova has obtained FSSC 22000 certification, which guarantees compliance with the highest international standards of food safety and hygiene in refrigeration processes.
Excise Licence
Frigo Genova holds a licence for the handling of excisable products. This authorisation allows the storage and handling of goods such as alcoholic beverages under duty-suspension arrangements, with fiscal and operational advantages for customers in the sector.
Qualification Authorised Recipient
The status of Authorised Consignee allows Frigo Genova to receive goods bound for EU transit directly in its warehouses, without going through the customs office. This translates into a considerable reduction in the time and cost of customs clearance operations.
MTC authorisation
Frigo Genova has MTC authorisation, which allows the temporary handling of containers in the customs area. The authorisation allows empty or full containers to be moved between different logistics points without immediately fulfilling customs obligations, optimising the flexibility of port and logistics operations.
BIO certification
The Vado Ligure and Genova Bolzaneto sites are certified IT BIO 007, confirming the proper handling and storage of organic products according to current regulations.
Non-Compliant Goods Authorisation
Frigo Genova is authorised to handle non-compliant goods, allowing them to be temporarily stored pending adjustment or rework according to customs and health regulations.
CE stamp
Frigo Genova’s cold stores comply with EU hygiene and health standards for the storage of products of animal origin, as attested by the EC stamp IT1246F and ITB2C40.
Customs Warehouse
The Vado Ligure and Genoa Bolzaneto warehouses have a type ‘C’ private bonded warehouse, which allows storage under duty suspension, offering tax advantages to traders.
